How BitRouter protects your data and privacy

Last updated June 1, 2026

Data Collection and Usage

BitRouter is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary for operation:

  • Wallet addresses - used solely for crypto payments and balance tracking
  • API usage logs - used for billing and service optimization
  • Model preferences and usage patterns - used for improving user experience

Notably, BitRouter does not require Know Your Customer (KYC) information. You can use our service with just a wallet signature - no personal information, email addresses, or identity verification needed.

Data Storage

We store data only as necessary for service operation:

  • Usage logs are retained for 90 days for billing purposes, after which they are securely deleted
  • Wallet balances and credits are stored securely
  • No personal data or conversation content is permanently stored

Third-Party Services

BitRouter serves as a routing layer between users and external AI providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)

  • Each provider has their own privacy policies for processing requests. Requests routed through our service may be subject to the privacy policies of those providers.
  • We do not control or assume responsibility for how third-party AI providers collect, use, or store your data.
  • We act as a proxy and do not store the content of your conversations or model data.

Limitations

While BitRouter is committed to protecting your privacy, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • We are not responsible or liable for the acts, omissions, or data handling practices of third-party AI providers or blockchain networks. Your relationship with those providers is governed exclusively by their own terms and privacy policies.
  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be available on our website.

Payment Terms

We offer two payment methods:

  • Credits: Pre-paid balance for API usage
  • x402 Crypto Payments: Pay-per-request using cryptocurrency overpayments

All payments are final. Unused credits may be refunded upon request. Crypto overpayments are automatically credited to your account balance.

Usage Policies

When using BitRouter, you agree to:

  • Comply with all underlying AI provider terms of service
  • Not use the service for illegal or harmful activities
  • Respect rate limits and fair usage policies
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer or abuse the service

Service Availability

We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or due to issues with underlying AI providers. We are not liable for service interruptions or model availability.

Content and Liability

You are responsible for the content of your requests and any outputs generated. BitRouter acts as a proxy service and is not responsible for:

  • Content generated by AI models
  • Accuracy or reliability of AI responses
  • Decisions made based on AI outputs
  • Compliance with your local laws and regulations

Data and Privacy

We do not store conversation content. Usage logs are kept for billing purposes only. Your requests are forwarded to AI providers who have their own data policies. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

Termination

Either party may terminate service at any time. Upon termination, unused credits may be refunded. We reserve the right to suspend accounts for violations of these terms.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms. Material changes will be communicated through our GitHub repository.
